                                                              Fuel cells

Fuel cell is an electrochemical device that provides most efficient conversion of hydrogen and possibly other fuels into electrical energy

Direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) which is an extension of PEMFC is attractive for the use in portable applications, where methanol is used as the fuel. The two important reactions in fuel cells are the anodic oxidation of fuel and cathodic reduction of oxygen. At NSRL we focus on the development of efficient nano electro-catalysts for MOR and ORR

A biofuel cell is a fuel cell which use biological components (Micro-organisms or Enzymes) to produce energy by the oxidation of the fuel supplied. We study the enzymatic fuel cells at NSRL.
